BeerMXmas Trip 06 - Corby indoor skatepark

The xmas trip to Corby ran true to regular BeerMX standards. Eight of us made it along with Giles opting to drive us there in the Skaterham mini bus. Corby indoor park was a first for all of us, it's pretty new and is mainly a BMX park. Loads of stuff there, big driveway combo line, mini ramp with extension, bowled section with volcano and curved wall ride and a 6ft midi tighter than Darren Arrowsmith's wallet zip. Good rhythm section to jump box and wallride which was sessioned to the max. Also a big foam pit with decent foam cubes. They are putting in a 14ft vert outside next year, 70ft wide with 30ft of it as a resi, oh yeah!

Within the first 5 mins showtime Steve had slammed, clipping his front wheel and faceplanting enough so that his chin bone was poking out. He was back after a trip to A&E and a bunch of stitches. Inside was actually colder than outside so most of our time was spent shivering in corners clutching cups of tea. Eventually everyone warmed up and found some good lines on the driveway combo and got into the jump section. Ross was ripping up the tight mini with some burly airs and squeeky lip tricks.

We left the park at 9pm and found a wetherspoons in Kettering. From there on it all got pretty fuzzy. Ross was the star of the table with his yellow MF race journey while Selwood got more digs for the size of his old school GT bars. The mini bus at it's best did 50mph on a downhill so the ride home seemed to take a lifetime! Not helped by about 6 communal 'piss stops' at various layby's and services along the M11. Karayoke helped pass the time with Selwood mixing a 'Get your motor runnin' sample into every song. After that the reggae and dub rolled and damon beatboxed for far too long.

We rolled up at Ash's around 4:30am. It's fair to say that everyone was a bit worse for wear, half asleep, fully guacamolied and talking serious bollocks. Ross did an impromptu skydive out of the van while trying to get out, faceplanting the ground as his final move of the day.
Big cheers to Giles for driving.
The pictures will fill in the rest. Roll on the next one!!!
